Teddington House

R+W fully refurbished the existing house at Hampton Road whilst constructing a new studio building on the site. The works included a full refurbishment of the interior with new bathrooms, hand made kitchen and bespoke joinery which were designed in close consultation with the client. The hall space was returned to its original layout and a sense of grandeur returned to the staircase and landings. A new lantern light was installed over the staircase at first floor which floods the space with natural light. We used natural oak herringbone flooring thoughout the main house with polished concrete floors in the kitchen that linked with the studio buildings.(see Hampton Road Studio project) The services were all replaced with a new plumbing and wiring throughout. We designed new lighting utilising classic pendant fittings in the main house with a combination of carefully positioned downlights in the bathroom and kitchen ceilings.

Externally existing timber windows were either restored or replaced and the brickwork was sensitively cleaned and re pointed with a Lime based mortar. The gardens were landscaped and we designed new paved patio areas with outdoor kitchens and fixed seating arranged around a recessed firepit.
